Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences

Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences (GAIMS) is a medical college cum multi-specialty hospital established by the Government of Gujarat and Adani Foundation in Bhuj city of Gujarat state in the year 2009. GAIMS is affiliated to Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma Kachchh University and recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC) with an annual intake of 150 MBBS seats and 51 seats in 15 streams of Postgraduate studies. Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences (GAIMS) is first Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) endeavour between Government of Gujarat and Adani Education & Research Foundation. GAIMS is the only Medical College and Multi-Specialty Modern Teaching District Hospital in Kachchh District. GAIMS is part of Adani Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, and is managed by Adani Education & Research Foundation, under the umbrella of Adani Foundation.

The entire campus spreads in total 27 acres of land in the middle of the Bhuj City which consists various blocks of Medical College, Teaching Hospital, Hostels for UG / PG students separate blocks for boys and girls, Residential quarters for teaching and non-teaching staff. There are very good spacious modern gallery type Lecture halls in the college and in the hospital. There are Examination halls & Demonstration rooms. The Institute is fully equipped with Advanced Clinical Laboratories, Departmental Museums and Auditorium. Library and information center is located in a huge area with good collection of Medical Books of over 14000, 110 Indian & Foreign Journals with separate reading space for students & Teaching Staff where 300 students can sit at a time and a Digital Library. There are facilities for Indoor and Outdoor Games and Sports with volleyball and badminton facilities.

The Teaching Hospital

G. K. General Hospital (GKGH) is the attached teaching hospital which is the only Multi-Specialty Modern Teaching District Hospital in Kachchh district. GKGH provides treatment to all classes of patients particularly poorest of poor patients and is one of the busiest hospital in the region. GKGH is having more than 750 beds capacity, 14 Operation Theatres, various Intensive Care Units - ICU, ICCU, PICU, NICU, RICU, MICU, SICU – Total comprising of 58 Beds, Modern Radiology center with 1.5 Tesla MRI Machine, 16 slice CT Scan Machine and other infrastructure facilities required for being a frontline modern multi-specialty teaching hospital. The District Hospital of Kutch, G K General Hospital, Bhuj was completely collapsed in major earthquake happened in January 2001. In the aftermath of the disaster, the Government of India decided to rebuild the hospital with latest technology known as the Base Isolation Technique a technique known for Earth Quake resistant structural building. 24X7 emergency and trauma care facility, Eye bank and blood bank facilities are available. There are very good clinical and diagnostic facilities in the Hospital. The Hospital has facilities for burn treatment, Critical care services, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy. The Hospital's general specialities include General Medicine, General Surgery, OBG, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Radiodiagnosis, ENT, Ophthalmology, Anaesthesiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry & Forensic Medicine.

Admission Committee for Professional Postgraduate Medical Courses (ACPPGMEC)conducts Online Combined Centralized Counselling for all GUJARAT State Government and Private Medical Colleges. In order to participate in the admission process, it is necessary to fill Admission Committee for Professional Postgraduate Medical Courses (ACPPGMEC)MBBS PG Admission Counseling medical application form in the online mode. Candidates who have qualified NEET- PG is eligible for the GUJARATPG medical admission to the state quota as well as All India Quota seats. ACPPGMEC offers PG medical admission for the 50% seats available in the GUJARAT State Governmentand 100% Unaided Private Medical Colleges.

Self- Financed Medical and Dental Colleges:

a. Government Seats (GQ): 75% seats of total sanctioned seats

b. Management Seats (MQ): 10% seats of total sanctioned seats

c. NRI Seats (NQ): 15% seats of total sanctioned seats

Reservation for In-service candidate of Government of Gujarat:-

Ten percent (10%) of Government quota seats in Postgraduate subjects of MD/MS courses in Government Medical Colleges, CPS/DNB courses in Government District Hospitals and DNB courses in GMERS Medical Colleges in (1) Pediatrics, (2) TB & Chest, (3) Obstetrics & Gynecology, (4) Preventive & Community Medicine, (5) Orthopedics, (6) General Surgery, (7) General Medicine, (8) Anesthesiology, (9) Radiology, (10) Pathology subjects, shall be reserved in each category for In-service doctors of Gujarat State.”
