About College

The Bharati Vidyapeeth University Medical College, Pune is a Trust established in Year 1989. The campus houses a medical college with 150 MBBS annual admissions and Post Graduate Courses in 20 departments in Super-specialties Courses in 5 departments. The college is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is affiliated with the Bharati Vidyapeeth University (Deemed), Pune. The College is situated on main Pune – Satara Road in the southern part of Pune city about 5 km. from Swargate (one of the major bus terminus in the city). The Medical College and attached teaching hospital occupy 25 acres of land on a sprawling lush green campus. The University and the College have been awarded ‘A+' Accreditation (Third Cycle) by 'NAAC' in 2017, Category-I Deemed to be University Grade by UGC and 'A' Grade by Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

The 03 main lecture halls in the college with a capacity of 180 each are air-conditioned with smart classrooms and virtual classroom facilities. These include interactive projectors/boards, Wi-Fi access, two-way audio-video conferencing facilities, lecture capture system, mobile biometric attendance, etc. The college also has 02 air-conditioned conference halls and 02 auditoriums with a seating capacity of 450 and 550.

The Central Library has a good collection of books and journals. There are spacious reading rooms with separate reading areas for faculty and students and a computer section with an internet facility. E-Library facility is also available.

There are separate boys’ and girls’ hostels for undergraduate students and separate residents and interns hostel facilities. Two new hostels (UG boys and girls) have been built having with all modern amenities considering the current needs of the students. All hostels are well furnished with recreational facilities like TV, internet, indoor games facility, etc. Playground for outdoor games like cricket, football, basketball, and a well-equipped gymnasium is also available on the campus.

Bharati Vidyapeeth University Medical College Hospital now has full-fledged departments to provide specialty and super specialty services. These include:

The Department of Radio Diagnosis and Imaging of Bharati Medical College and Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility, has a well-equipped central clinical laboratory, high-end CT Scan (16 SLICE PHILIPS BRILLIANCE CT SCAN), MRI Machines (1.5 Tesla Philips Achieva), 4D ultrasonography, color doppler, and other equipment. (The department has a workload of around 125 diagnostic X – rays, 100 Ultrasounds, 15 CT scans, 15 MRI scans, 5 Mammography studies, 1 DSA, 5 CT/USG Guided FNACs and 10 color Doppler per day)

The Central Laboratory of Bharati Hospital is accredited by NABL as per ISO 15189 (2012), which ensures the highest quality of laboratory reports. The laboratory provides 24x7 service. It is a state-of-the-art laboratory and is fully equipped with facilities required for Biochemistry, Pathology, and Microbiology investigations.

There is a state of art MAJOR OT complex located on the third floor of the hospital with 09 operating theaters. These ultra-modern operation theaters cater to most of the surgical branches. In addition to the major OT complex, there is GOT complex on the first floor for Obstetrics and gynecology attached to the Labour room and a fully equipped Casualty OT complex for Emergency Surgeries. Uro surgery, Neurosurgery, and Orthopedic OT have separate C-arm. In total there are six Endoscopic trolleys in the complex.

Bharati hospital has the One of largest NICU in Maharashtra with 60 beds.10 bedded Level II PICU.

Rural Health Training Centre:- at Lavale has a built-up area of 2482.20 sq. mt and provides comprehensive health care to a population of almost 65,000 in 10 villages. The center is fully equipped with diagnostic and therapeutic facilities along with a residential facility for staff and trainees. The RHTC serves as a rural field practice demonstration area for undergraduate students and interns.

Urban Health Training Centre:- at Sadashiv Peth caters to 61,000 population spread over 9 wards of the Pune Municipal Corporation area providing multispecialty OPD and basic diagnostic facilities.

Bharati Vidyapeeth University Medical College, Pune NEETPG Counseling is conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)

MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:-

The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (PG) examination conducting body

Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India &Ors.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats .The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the documents as and when the same are called for by the MCC.

Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC

There are multiple rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 & Stray Vacancy Round. ALL four rounds of AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB, are conducted by MCC through ONLINE ONLY i.e., Round 1, Round 2 , Round 3, and Stray Vacancy round. In the YEAR 2022–23 (Round 3) was called the Mop-Up round, where there was no sliding (upgradation) from the 2nd round to the mop-up round, but in 2023–2024, there was an upgradation from ROUND 2 to Round 3. In 2023-2024 Stray Vacancy Round was ONLINE, but in 2022-23 Stray Vacancy Round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit. As per the directions issued by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in SLA(C) No. 10487 of 2021, the AIQ scheme has been modified and 04 rounds of AIQ counselling will be conducted by MCC of DGHS, MoHFW. Hence, 3rd round (earlier mop-up round) and fourth round i.e. stray vacancy round will be conducted in AIQ from 2021-22 onwards.

  3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counselling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
  4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds
