Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences - BRIMS is a district Government Hospital and medical college in Bidar, Karnataka with a status of autonomous institute under Government of Karnataka. It is Affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences-RGUHS, Karnataka, and recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC), India. The College has an annual in take of 150 MBBS seats and 10 seats in 5 disciplines of Post-Graduate studies. It is well-connected by road and rail routes. The institute is tagged with zonal pharmacovigilance centre and NODAL reference lab under NTCP (National Tuberculosis Control Programme).

There is a huge campus which is spread around 45 acres, consisting of Main college and Administrative office, Old and New Hospital building, Staff quarters (1+1), Separate UG & PG Boys and Girls  hostel+mess. Building is constructed from Cellar + G + 3 Floors with built up area of 27805.74 sqmts. There are good spacious Classrooms, 4 Lecture halls with a seating capacity of 100, Demonstration room, Examination Hall. Auditorium is located on the top of the building. Departmental museums are in place and there are good laboratory facilities. Central Library having all Medical Books Indian & Foreign Journals with separate space to the students & Teaching Staff also 1 Digital Library. There are 10,000+ Medical Books, 131+ Indian & Foreign Journals, & 474 Medicine CD’s. The Digital Library with Internet and HELINET facilities. Sports, Games and Recreational facilities are available. Nehru stadium is just adjacent to the campus. There is a swimming pool of district administration at a walkable distance of 300 m.

BRIMS Hospital

Initially was tagged to district hospital of Bidar which was of 300 beds strength and was later upgraded to new BRIMS teaching hospital of 750 beds. The new building has 8 storied building with various departmental OTs, central lab, upgraded equipments, which was inaugurated in 2017. The Hospital gets an average OPD of 1400+ everyday. There are good number of IP as well. The Hospital is a tertiary hospital serving the people of district. 24X7 emergency and trauma care facility, Eye bank and blood bank facilities are available. There are well-equipped Clinical and Diagnostic laboratories. The Hospital is equipped with all the modern facilities to conduct major and minor operations and have good ICU's. The Hospital's general specialities include General Medicine, General Surgery, OBG, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Radiodiagnosis, ENT, Ophthalmology, Anaesthesiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry & Forensic Medicine.

    KEA – Karnataka Examination Authority conducts counselling for Government Medical College (50% seats and another 50% will be conducted by MCC), 100% seat allotment in Private Medical College by KEA (which includes Non-Minority, Linguistic minority, Religious minority institutions). KEA counselling is conducted in 3 rounds, 1st round, 2nd round & Mop-up round. Application form will be available in PGET section in https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/pget
