The Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, New Delhi is a established in the Year 2012. The campus houses a medical college with 100 MBBS annual admissions and Post Graduate Courses in 15 departments . The college is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is affiliated with the University of Jamia Hamdard University (Hamdard University).NAAC ‘A’ grade University status in 2002 in its first accreditation cycle and continues to remain in ‘A’ category for the third cycle held in 2017. It has been ranked 11th by the NIRF in the Medical category. HIMS is for Muslim Minority college. In the admission counselling first preference will be given to Muslim Minority Community only.

The college's world-class infrastructure includes Lecture Halls (gallery type), Labs, Library, Office Space for Faculties, Seminar Halls, Conference Halls, Auditorium, and infrastructure for Sports & Extra Curricular activities, etc. It has 6 air-conditioned lecture halls that are provided with modern audio-visual equipment, in First, second and third floor. Two Lecture Halls is with 180 capacity , Three Lecture Halls is with 120 capacity and one lecturer hall in hospital with 720 capacity. College has an 500 seating air-conditioned Conference Hall/Auditorium Hall well equipped with a light and sound system. examination hall is with 500 capacity. It has separate, well-organized Boys, Girls common rooms with attached toilets.

The Central Library has a good collection of books and journals. There are spacious reading rooms with separate reading areas for faculty and students and a computer section with an internet facility. E-Library facility is also available.

The college has separate Boys, Girls hostels for UG students, PG students, Interns, Residents, Staff Nurses with round-the-clock wireless internet and intranet connectivity. Each hostel has a 24-hour reading room and facility for indoor and outdoor games.

The College provides all kinds of sports activities and encourages students to participate in games and ensure their all-round development. All facilities and playgrounds are available for Basket Ball, VolleyBall, Foot Ball, Table Tennis, Cricket, Badminton, etc

Hakeem Abdul Hameed Centenary Hospital (HAHC)

The institute is supported by 600 +bedded modern state-of-the-art teaching hospital, namely, Hakeem Abdul Hameed Centenary Hospital which has two blocks- Block A and B, mainly to deliver tertiary level medical care to the patients at an affordable cost. A full fledged scientifically designed out patient complex for all departments with adequate waiting space for patients and attendants. An Emergency wing designed and equipped to deal with all cases of casualties, trauma, accident, and medical emergencies. A full fledged diagnostic setup with round the clock central laboratory capable of performing all tests. Ultramodern imaging facilities under department of Radio diagnosis and Imaging with X-ray, Ultrasound , Doppler, CT Scan. The blood bank of the institute is also well equipped with blood testing facilities, latest gadgetry and a cold room for good storage capacity . 9 Major and 4 minor Operation Theatres are functional, New Hospital Block- 05 major OTs and 02 minor OT,Old Hospital Block- 04 Major OTs (Including 01 Emergency OT) and 02 Minor OTs.

Clinical board’s general specialities viz. Medicine, Surgery, OBG, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Pulmonology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Anaesthesiology and Radiology and three paraclinical departments viz. Pathology, Microbiology and Biochemistry are working in the Hospital. In addition to the basic clinical specialities, NICU, PICU, OICU, Paediatric Nephrology including dialysis, Arthroscopy and GI Endoscopy are some of the specialised tertiary level services rendered in the hospital.

With a footfall of over 8+ lakh outpatients and 60000 inpatients every year, With 80 to 90% occupancy, it provides an excellent range of clinical Experience to undergraduate(UG) and post-graduate (PG) students and researchers. The Institute has OPD clinics in all the specialties running on all working days.

Admission Process

MGM Institute of Health Sciences, MGMIHS , NEETPG Counseling is conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)

MCC(Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:-

The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (PG) examination conducting body

Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India &Ors.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats .The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the documents as and when the same are called for by the MCC.

Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC

There are four rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Mop- Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round. Out of the four rounds for Deemed Universities, 03 rounds are conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit

  3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counselling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
  4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

  • Final Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities (There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
  • List of ten times (of the registered candidates) of number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
  • For Deemed Universities the Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted by the respective Deemed University
  • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round
