The Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha is a Trust established in the Year 1990. The campus houses a medical college with 250 MBBS annual admissions, 162 seats in 22 disciplines of Post Graduate Courses and 9 seats in 6 disciplines of Super-Specialization studies. The college is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC)  and is affiliated with the Datta Meghe Instt. Of Medical Sciences (Deemed University), Nagpur. A+' Accreditation (Third Cycle) by 'NAAC' in 2017, Category-I Deemed to be University under UGC for Categorization of Universities for Grant of Graded Autonomy Regulations 2018.

Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Science, a Deemed to be University, is located in a 125-acre campus in Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha about 80 km from Nagpur, Maharashtra, India which is the geographic center of India. It is located away from the hustle and bustle of the city amidst serene surroundings in a self-sustaining complex with an excellent academic ambiance. It is very well connected by road, rail, and air(via Nagpur) to all the major cities in the country. Nagpur has now become an international airport with direct flights from Sharjah, UAE, and many more countries lined up for the near future. The infrastructure of the campus is advanced with all amenities to provide an enriched residential experience simultaneously proffering to foster academic and research exposure.

Acharya Vinobha Bhave Rural Hospital, which is the largest teaching hospital with 1525 beds modern state-of-the-art teaching hospital in central India. Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare sector. The well-equipped Radiology services include an MRI, CT scan, Doppler Ultrasound, 2D Echocardiography, DSA, Digital X-rays, and Portable X-Ray machines. Pathology, Microbiology, and Biochemistry are working in the  Hospital.

    Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Sawangi, NEETPG  Counseling is conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)

    MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:-

    The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (PG) examination conducting body 

    Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India &Ors.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats .The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the  documents as and when the same are called for by the MCC.

    Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC

                   There are four rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Mop- Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round. Out of the four rounds for Deemed Universities, 03 rounds are conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit

    1. “Satisfied with the allotted seat and candidate is willing to report to the allotted college, not interested in further allotment of seats in any subsequent round for any discipline”.
    2. The candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat but wishes to participate in the next round. Such candidates should pay the prescribed fees
    3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counselling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
    4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

    Fresh Registration for Mop-up Round (not required for earlier resigned candidates)

    • There will be no choice filling in Stray Vacancy Round. The choices filled during Mop-Up round will be considered for allotment in Stray Vacancy Round.
    • Allotment of seats ‘Online’ by running software
    • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round

    • Final Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities (There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
    • List of ten times (of the registered candidates) of number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
    • For Deemed Universities the Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted by the respective Deemed University
    • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round
