About College

 The Meenakshi Medical College and Research Institute, MMCH&RI ENATHUR  established in the Year 2003. The college is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC)   and is affiliated with the Meenakshi University MAHER  (Deemed), Chennai. The college offers 250 seats in MBBS, Postgraduate Courses in 19 departments a Super Specialty course in 4 departments. The Meenakshi Medical College & Research Institute is spread over spacious 39.09-acre land of serene surroundings, is an ideal atmosphere for the best medical education. There are eight highly sophisticated lecture theatres, each with LCD projectors, public address systems, Smart Board, and Interactive Board facilities. The auditorium with a pleasing acoustic system and over 300 seating capacity.

There are separate hostel facilities for both men and women students, with 500 single rooms available inside the campus to accommodate undergraduate and postgraduate students in medical and other disciplines. There are 5 hostel buildings of this college out of which 3 buildings is for girls and 2 is for UG and PG boys and there is one CRRI quarter for boys.

The campus has an enormous open ground for bringing more athletes and we have courts for Badminton, Shuttle, Basket Ball, Volley Ball, and Mini Football ground.

Meenakshi Medical College and Research Institute Hospital 1300+ bedded multispeciality teaching hospital with 14 states of the art operating theatres and is equipped to take care of all medical and surgical cases and emergencies. It offers specialty and super specialty services, including state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities to ensure the delivery of holistic patient care.

Meenakshi Medical College Hospital now has 24 full-fledged departments to provide specialty and super specialty services. These include:

Specialty Services; Anesthesiology, Dermatology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Otorhinolaryngology (ENT), Dental Surgery, Paediatrics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology

Super-Specialty Services; Cardiology, Chest Medicine, Cardiac Thoracic Surgery, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Gynecologic Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neuro Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Reconstructive Surgery & Burns, Urology including Endourology, Renal transplantation.

Diagnostic facilities like C.T. Scan, Radio-Therapy, and fully-equipped laboratory facilities with Pathology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Histopathology labs, and a full-fledged Blood Bank is functioning 24 hours in the hospital. The diagnostic laboratories of the college and hospital have been granted accreditation with the ISO 15189:2003 standards by the National Annual accreditation center of the UGC.

With a footfall of over 2.5 lakh + outpatients and 40000+ inpatients every year, it provides an excellent range of clinical material to undergraduate (UG) and post-graduate (PG) students and researchers.

    Meenakshi Medical College and Research Institute ,NEETPG  Counseling is conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)

    MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:-

    The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (PG) examination conducting body 

    Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India & rs.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats .The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the  documents as and when the same are called for by the MCC.

    Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC

                   There are four rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Mop- Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round. Out of the four rounds for Deemed Universities, 03 rounds are conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit

    3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counselling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
    4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

    2nd Round :- (AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB)

    Fresh Registration for Mop-up Round (not required for earlier resigned candidates)

    • There will be no choice filling in Stray Vacancy Round. The choices filled during Mop-Up round will be considered for allotment in Stray Vacancy Round.
    • Allotment of seats ‘Online’ by running software
    • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round

    Stray vacancies:- (DEEMED)

    • Final Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities (There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
    • List of ten times (of the registered candidates) of number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
    • For Deemed Universities the Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted by the respective Deemed University
    • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round
