Yenepoya Medical College (YMC) was established in 1999 at Deralakatte Mangalore. The college is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC)  and is affiliated with the Yenepoya University  (Deemed-to-be-University). Yenepoya Medical College (YMC) run under the Islamic Academy of Education, a not-for-profit trust committed to the upliftment of minorities, was established by the entrepreneur Mr. Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi as its Chairman. Yenepoya Medical College (YMC) is Accredited ’A’ Grade by NAAC. The college was earlier affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi state University of Health Sciences. Yenepoya Medical College is a Centre of Excellence in Medical Education, Research, and Health Care Services at the Regional, National, and International level. Yenepoya University  (Deemed-to-be-University) promotes general, technical, medical and other professional/scientific education among the general masses, regardless of their caste, creed, and community but with a special focus on the Muslim Minorities. The Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) has been ranked 86 among the top 100 universities in the country as per the NIRF rankings 2020 published by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Yenepoya Medical College stands on a sprawling green campus that spreads over an area of 32 acres of land, The institute offers the best of facilities for the purpose of education and research activities. The college has a world-class infrastructure with tall buildings an excellent Wi-Fi-enabled campus. The institute provides spacious classrooms, fully equipped ultra-modern labs.

The Yenepoya Medical College offers 150 seats in MBBS, Postgraduate Courses in 20 departments, and a Super Specialty course in 2 departments. It’s among the best 5 medical institutes in Karnataka.

The institute shall provide residential accommodation on the campus to the students admitted to regular courses. It is compulsory for the students admitted to Yenepoya Medical College that they reside in the hostel. Students residing within a 10 km radius are permitted to commute from the surrounding areas.

Yenepoya Medical College has adequate facilities for sports and games within the campus, A multipurpose hall, an indoor facility with a viewing gallery of 550 seats. Standard Basketball Court, Shuttle Badminton Court, Volleyball, and Table Tennis Squash Court, Board Games.

The city is well connected by railways, roads, air, and seaports respectively. Mangalore has its airport located around 37min (24 km) away from college. Major flights from different domestic and international destinations serve Mangalore on a daily basis. MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:-

The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (MDS) examination conducting body 

Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India &Ors.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats .The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the  documents as and when the same are called for by the MCC.

Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC

               There are four rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Mop- Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round. Out of the four rounds for Deemed Universities, 03 rounds are conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit

  3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counselling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
  4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

  • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round

Stray vacancies:- (DEEMED)

  • Final Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities (There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
  • List of ten times (of the registered candidates) of number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
  • For Deemed Universities the Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted by the respective Deemed University
  • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round

KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) COUNSELING 

As per consensual agreement between the Karnataka government and Manipal Academy Of Higher Education (MAHE) . Manipal Academy Of Higher Education (MAHE) Karnataka shares 2% of there seat in UG and PG  For the local students of Karnataka. The Tuition fees will be same as MCC counseling. 

KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) COUNSELING PROCESS

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bengaluru is the designated agency of Government of Karnataka conducting Online / Offline Counseling for allotment of seats for admission to Post Graduate Degree / Diploma Courses in Medical / Dental subjects in Government Medical and Dental colleges, Government Quota seats in Private ,Deemed and Minority Medical and Dental Colleges and Private seats in Private Medical and Dental colleges (KPCF, KRLMPCA, AMPCK & Private Universities) located in the State of Karnataka for the academic year.

The allotment of seats will be conducted in multiple number of iterations.

Note:
  1. Duration of the course  is 3 years.
  2. Hostel is Compulsory for all students.
  3. Food, Laundry and air conditioned accommodation (twin sharing) shall be provided withthe above fees.
  4. Laundry (maximum 30 pieces) per month free and extra pieces will be charged at Rs 10 per piece.
  5. Two post dated cheques for remaining 2 years fee to be given.
  6. Every candidate shall pay the remaining course fee in the event he/she leaves the coursebefore its completion.
  7. Fee should be paid on/before 1st October of every year for II & III year of the course.
  8. Family accommodation will be providedon request at the additional cost.
