Akash Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre (AIMS&RC) is one of the upcoming eminent Medical College situated very much adjacent to Bangalore International Airport in Devanahalli town of Bangalore. It was established in the year 2016 by the Akash Educational & Development Trust with the ultimate goal of quality imparting medical education and shaping the future health care of our nation and beyond. This College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences-RGUHS, located in Karnataka and recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC) with the annual intake of 150 seats in MBBS. It is well connected by Road, Rail and Aerial route.

The Medical College is located in the lush green decent campus with an aesthetic environment around. Well-ventilated and spacious Classrooms, Lecture Theatres with Digital incorporation, Demo rooms, Seminar halls, Museum for each Department, Examination halls and Auditorium are present in the campus. KEA – Karnataka Examination Authority conducts counseling for Government Medical College (50% seats and another 50% will be conducted by MCC), 100% seat allotment in Private Universities & private medical colleges (includes non-minority, linguistic minority, and religious minority institutions) by KEA.

“NOTE: People who got allotted in the 1st & 2nd Round are not allowed to participate in the mop-up round." This is the actual rule of KEA, but as per the court case and in favor of students, KEA allowed them to upgrade for the mop-up this 2024-2025 A.Y.

• Fresh registration was permitted from January 15 to 18 due to a reduction in the qualifying percentile for in-service candidates, which was lowered by NBEMS on January 6, 2024

• In 2022, the institutional mop-up round of counseling was conducted to fill any vacant seats remaining after the mop-up round of KEA counseling. This round is carried out by colleges to fill leftover seats. A list of registered candidates for stray vacancies is sent to private colleges, and these vacancies must be filled strictly in order of merit. However, starting in 2023, all remaining seats must be filled solely through online processes.

Stray vacancy round 2:

• Fresh registration was allowed from March 1st to 3rd due to a reduction in the qualifying percentile by up to 5 percent across all categories on 25-02-2024.
