KEA – Karnataka Examination Authority conducts counseling for Government Medical College (50% seats and another 50% will be conducted by MCC), 100% seat allotment in Private Universities and private Medical College ( includes Non-Minority, linguistic minority, and religious minority institutions), by KEA.

“NOTE: People who got allotted in the 1st & 2nd Round are not allowed to participate in the mop-up round." This is the actual rule of KEA, but as per the court case and in favor of students, KEA allowed them to upgrade for the mop-up this 2024-2025 A.Y.

• Option entry (whereas in 2022 it was offline counseling and in 2023 it was online counseling with a caution deposit of 3 lakhs for medical students and 2 lakhs for dental students to participate in the MOP-UP Round)

Stray vacancy round 1:

• Fresh registration was allowed for the candidates who hadn't registered in the subsequent rounds.

• In 2022, the institutional mop-up round of counseling was conducted to fill any vacant seats remaining after the mop-up round of KEA counseling. This round is carried out by colleges to fill leftover seats. A list of registered candidates for stray vacancies is sent to private colleges, and these vacancies must be filled strictly in order of merit. However, starting in 2023, all remaining seats must be filled solely through online processes.
