The Dr. D Y Patil Medical College, Kolhapur is a Trust established in the Year 1989. The campus houses a medical college with 150 MBBS annual admissions and  Post Graduate Courses in 17 departments . The college is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC)  and is affiliated with the D.Y. Patil Education Society (Deemed University), Kolhapur.  Dr. D Y Patil Medical College is spread over spacious 22-acre land of serene surroundings, is an ideal atmosphere for the best medical education.

The infrastructure of the University includes Lecture Halls, Labs, Library, Office Space for Faculties, Seminar Halls, Conference Halls, Auditorium and infrastructure for Sports & Extra Curricular activities etc. All the classrooms are spacious, well illuminated and equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia teaching aids. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The university has developed a first-rate fully air-conditioned library with internet facility for the students. The College has separate hostels for girls and boys with round the clock security arrangements, each hostel has separate dining rooms, recreation rooms and study rooms. The College provides all kinds of sports activities and encourages students to take part in games and to ensure their all-round development. Dr. D Y Patil Medical College Hospital& Research Institute, Kadamwadi, Kolhapur is 700 +bedded modern state-of-the-art teaching hospital and one of the most renowned tertiary hospitals in the vicinity of Kolhapur District.

Dr. D Y Patil Medical College Hospital& Research Institute an ISO 9001:2005 is a fully equipped multi specialty hospital with 14 specialty services, 15 super specialty services, 4 critical care units& state of the art diagnostic facilities. The Hospital is equipped with ICU-26, CCU-5, PICU-8, NICU-10 and Casualty ICU-10. There are 13 ultra-modern operation theatres, blood bank with component separator, pharmacy. All the departments are equipped with all advanced facilities and are manned with trained, dedicated staff. The well equipped Radiology services include a 3 Tesla MRI, 64-slice CT scan, Doppler Ultrasound, 2D Echocardiography, DSA, Digital X-rays and Portable X-Ray machines. The Central laboratory services are of the highest standards. The hospital has four ambulances that are available 24×7 of which one is a designated Cardiac Ambulance and another one is fully equipped with ECG, Oxygen cylinder, Ambu Bag, Emergency drugs trolley, Monitor with Ventilator and Defibrillator which serves the needy patients at the most emergency situations. The in house nursing college which provides 5 nursing specialties adds up more technical sophistication for all medical procedures.

    Dr. D Y Patil Medical College, Kolhapur NEETPG  Counseling is conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)

    MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:-

    The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (PG) examination conducting body 

    Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India &Ors.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats .The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the  documents as and when the same are called for by the MCC.

    Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC

                   There are four rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Mop- Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round. Out of the four rounds for Deemed Universities, 03 rounds are conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit

    3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counselling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
    4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

    • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round

    • Final Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities (There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
    • List of ten times (of the registered candidates) of number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
    • For Deemed Universities the Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted by the respective Deemed University
    • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round
