The Employees State Insurance Corporation Medical College, Bangalore, is a Government College established in the Year 2012. The institute is under the administrative control of the ESI Corporation. It is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences-RGUHS, Karnataka, and recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC), India. The College has an annual in take of 100 MBBS seats. Affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, located in Karnataka with the annual intake of 100 seats.

The college is having a state of the art building with all the facilities spread in over 15 acres. There are good spacious Classrooms, huge Lecture halls with a seating capacity of 150, Demonstration room, Multiple reading rooms & Examination Hall. Separate Hostel facility for Boys and Girls. Departmental museums are in place and there are state of the art laboratory facilities. Central Library is having all the Medical Books, Indian & Foreign Journals with separate reading space for students & Teaching Staff and includes Digital Library as well. Sports, Games and Recreational facilities are available. Pre and Para clinical departments are located in the Medical College with practical halls as per the guidelines prescribed by NMC. The Medical Education Unit is well established with all facilities to train faculties and students. It regularly conducts scientific research study, seminars and CME’s.

The ESIC Hospital

Regarded as one of the best healthcare providers, Employees State Insurance Hospital, Rajajinagar 3rd Block has been providing a remarkable service ever since its inception. Equipped with advanced medical equipment and technologies, it has been constantly achieving milestones in the medical field. The college is attached to a 500-bed state of art multi-specialty Hospital. It provides emergency services like Casualty, ICU, MICU, NICU & SICU with 05 beds each and all kinds of emergencies procedures are handled. The hospital has centralized lab facility equipped with all kinds of modern facilities and investigations from Biochemistry, Pathology and Microbiology units are carried out 24 x 7 Hrs. Radiology Dept is well equipped with 16 slice CT scan, 02 Ultra Sound Machines and 06 X-Ray machines. Centralized Pharmacy facility is available. The hospital has IPD facilities and all specialty OPD facilities like General Medicine, General, Surgery, OBG, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Orthopedics, Skin and VD, Psychiatry, Radiology and Anesthesia. This hospital is unique which caters both IP’s and Non-IP’s. On an average 500 to 600 patients attend OPD per day. All patients are provided with hygienic and nutritious diet. Immunization programs are being carried out as per national immunization program by Department of Pediatrics. Regular camps are being organized at industries and nearby rural areas as part of Medical College mission project. Employees State Insurance Corporation ,,NEETPG Counseling is Conducted by 1) MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)( Open To All )and 2) KEA – Karnataka Examination Authority conducts counseling for Government Medical College (50% seats and another 50% will be conducted by MCC)

1) MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:-

The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (PG) examination conducting body

Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India &Ors.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats .The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the documents as and when the same are called for by the MCC.

Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC

There are multiple rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 & Stray Vacancy Round. ALL four rounds of AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB, are conducted by MCC through ONLINE ONLY i.e., Round 1, Round 2 , Round 3, and Stray Vacancy round. In the YEAR 2022–23 (Round 3) was called the Mop-Up round, where there was no sliding (upgradation) from the 2nd round to the mop-up round, but in 2023–2024, there was an upgradation from ROUND 2 to Round 3. In 2023-2024 Stray Vacancy Round was ONLINE, but in 2022-23 Stray Vacancy Round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit. As per the directions issued by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in SLA(C) No. 10487 of 2021, the AIQ scheme has been modified and 04 rounds of AIQ counselling will be conducted by MCC of DGHS, MoHFW. Hence, 3rd round (earlier mop-up round) and fourth round i.e. stray vacancy round will be conducted in AIQ from 2021-22 onwards.

  3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counselling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
  4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

  • In 2022, the institutional mop-up round of counseling will fill the vacant seats or remain unfilled seats after a mop-up round of KEA counseling. This round is conducted by colleges to fill the left-over seats. A list of the registered candidates' names for stray vacancies will be sent to private colleges to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
