About College

  JSS Dental College & Hospital was established in 1986-87 and is at present conducting BDS and MDS courses in Nine special divisions, and Post Graduate Diploma in five specialities. The College is recognized by both the Dental Council of India and the Government of India. It is affiliated to the JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSSAHER), Mysuru from 2008-09. Ranked No 12 college in the dental category of NIRF- 2022 and NIRF- 2021.

The college is located in a JSS Medical Institutions Campus spread across over 38 acres. 5 acres of the total land is exclusively demarcated for the JSS Dental College & Hospital. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled.

JSS Dental Hospital

  JSS Dental College & Hospital is one of the largest hospital in the region which made an humble beginning in 1986. There are more than 350 dental chairs to cater to the oral health needs of the patients. It provides state of the art infrastructure. It also has a surgical operation theatre with wards in the same building. Emergency treatment facilities are available round the clock. The hospital offers innovative treatment facilities which are carried out using the latest technology at a very affordable cost to the patients. The college is actively involved in Dhanta Bhagya scheme where the Government sponsors the treatment charges for patients below poverty line.

Multi Disciplinary approach is the main advantage to the patients. Tobacco cessation clinic, Diabetic care, pain clinic are some of the clinic facilities available for the patients. 'Smile clinic' handles cleft Lip and Palate patients and it is completely free of cost in a major successful programme of the college. The highlight of programme is the multidisciplinary approach which is not available under one roof anywhere else. The specialty of Oral Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Orthodontia, Paedodontia, Prosthodontia and Speech and hearing form a team to counsel and treat the patients every Friday without any financial burden. The college houses a laboratory for fabrication of prosthesis metal / ceramic. The hospital extends its services to inmates of prison and old age homes. Special care is extended to the differently abled children from different centers.

  JSS Dental College & Hospital  has incorporated high-end equipment such as CBCT - Cone Beam Computed Tomography - 3D imaging with Planmeca Promax,Radiovisuography (CCD),Digident ( PSP), CAD CAM Systems Lingual Angulation & Positioning Device Endo-Surgical Microscope, Intra Oral Scanner, Aligners System & 3D Printer High end Camera and Lighting for 2-way AV System, Digitalized Case Management System, Digitalized Case Record System 3D Diagnostic Software ensuring that students remain at the forefront of their chosen field.

Hostel

Separate hostels for boys and girls are available on the same campus. Gymnasium and Reading room facilities are separately available in each of the Hostels.

Sports

The college has many facilities like enough space for playing the games viz., Outdoor: Cricket, Football, Kabaddi,Volley ball, Basket Ball, Throw Ball, Tennikoit, Ball Badminton and Athletic track, Indoor: Table tennis, Chess, Carrom, Shuttle Badminton and recreation Hall, multistation Gym hall. . A permanent multipurpose sports ground on par with National standards is there in the campus.

Library

JSS Dental College and Hospital Library, which is known as the information resource centre was started in the year 1986 with the objective to cater to the needs of faculty and students in their Academic Endeavour.ibrary is well equipped with Books, Journals, Thesis and Dissertations, E-Journals, E-Books, Full text and abstractive databases, CD-ROM’s and Video Cassettes. Library is fully automated and entire library is Wi-Fi enabled. Recreational unit comprised with News papers, Magazines, Kannada/English classics and spiritual books.

    MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:-

    The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (MDS) examination conducting body 

    Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India &Ors.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats .The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the  documents as and when the same are called for by the MCC.

    Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC

                   There are four rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Mop- Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round. Out of the four rounds for Deemed Universities, 03 rounds are conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit

    4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

    • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round

    Stray vacancies:- (DEEMED)

    • Final Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities (There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
    • List of ten times (of the registered candidates) of number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
    • For Deemed Universities the Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted by the respective Deemed University
    • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round

    KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) COUNSELING 

    As per consensual agreement between the Karnataka government and Manipal Academy Of Higher Education (MAHE) . Manipal Academy Of Higher Education (MAHE) Karnataka shares 2% of there seat in UG and PG  For the local students of Karnataka. The Tuition fees will be less than as MCC counseling. 

    KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) COUNSELING PROCESS

    The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bengaluru is the designated agency of Government of Karnataka conducting Online / Offline Counseling for allotment of seats for admission to Post Graduate Degree / Diploma Courses in Medical / Dental subjects in Government Medical and Dental colleges, Government Quota seats in Private ,Deemed and Minority Medical and Dental Colleges and Private seats in Private Medical and Dental colleges (KPCF, KRLMPCA, AMPCK & Private Universities) located in the State of Karnataka for the academic year.

    The allotment of seats will be conducted in multiple number of iterations.
