Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC) at Baridih, Jamshedpur, in the East Singhbhum District of Jharkhand, is established in the Year 2020 is a premium institution for medical education and training under a consortium initiative between Tata Steel and MAHE Manipal. The campus houses a medical college with 150 MBBS annual admissions. The college is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is affiliated with the MAHE Manipal. Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC) has created the necessary infrastructure for a medical college at Ardeshir Dalal Memorial Hospital (ADMH) Campus in Baridih, spread over 20 acres. The departments, classrooms, library, and laboratories are housed in airy, bright, and well-ventilated buildings. The College has separate hostels for girls and boys with round-the-clock security arrangements. The Central Library has a good collection of books and journals. There are spacious reading rooms with separate reading areas for faculty and students and a computer section with an internet facility. The college has a tradition of providing an all-round development for students, by making available facilities for sports and for cultural activities

Tata Main Hospital (TMH)

The first hospital of Jamshedpur, Tata Main Hospital (TMH) was started in 1908 by Tata Steel. It is now one of the largest hospitals in Jharkhand. With 983 beds, TMH has a footfall of over 16.5 lakh OPD patients and 60000 admissions annually, with a year-on-year increase in customer satisfaction and advocacy measured through a robust Net Promoter Score (NPS) methodology. TMH provides tertiary healthcare services through outpatient, inpatient, and round-the-clock emergency services. Diagnostic services include Pathology, Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine. Advanced diagnostic services like CT and MRI scans are available in TMH as well as at the Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital (MTMH) located nearby. In addition to general wards, TMH offers intensive care to its patients through its Critical Care Unit (CCU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Burns Care Unit (BCU), Intermediate Medical Care Unit (IMCU) and High Dependency Unit (HDU). There are 13 modular operation theatres for all specialties with a dedicated one for Burns Care. TMH also provides super-specialty services in Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Nephrology, Urology, Paediatric Surgery, and Gastroenterology.

Note: TMH is now the designated COVID-19 hospital for East Singhbhum and Sareikela-Kharsawan districts of Jharkhand. It is the first private hospital in Jharkhand to be certified by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for RT-PCR diagnostic tests for COVID-19.

Admission Process

Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC

MCC/DGHS will hold Counseling for 50% All India Quota seats of all states except J&K. 100% seats (All India Quota seats + Institutional Quota seats) of Central Universities (Aligarh Muslim University/ Banaras Hindu University/ University of Delhi/ Central Institutes as per eligibility conditions mentioned in Important Questions related to Scheme of Counselling duly uploaded on MCC website,50% AIQ P.G seats of colleges under Employee State Insurance Corporation (wards of ESIC insured persons) , All P.G seats of Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions ,Central Institutes, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, ABVIMS & RML Hospital and ESIC Institute, PGIMSR, Basaidarapur (50% All India Quota seats and 50% seats of I.P University)

First Round

  • Notification for counseling process
  • NRI application with appropriate documents to be mailed for opening NRI portal ([email protected])
  • Registration fee varies as per the Filling of application form for-AIQ, Deemed, CU, DU, Central Institutes, AFMS

  1. “Satisfied with the allotted seat and candidate is willing to report to the allotted college, not interested in further allotment of seats in any subsequent round for any discipline”.
  2. Candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat but wishes to participate in the next round. Such candidates should pay the prescribed fees
  3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counselling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
  4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

2nd Round (Last Round for All India AIQ 50%)

Fresh Registration for Mop-up Round (not required for earlier resigned candidates)

  • Notification for counseling process
  • NRI application with appropriate documents to be mailed for opening NRI portal ([email protected])
  • Registration fee varies as per the Filling of application form for-AIQ, Deemed, CU, DU, Central Institutes, AFMS
  • Seat matrix display

  • All allotted students must download the allotment letter
  • If Allotted (No Free Exit)(Exit With Forfeiture of Fees )(No Upgradation For Next Round)
  • Reporting at the Medical Institutions/university against 2nd Round (candidates once joined the allotted seat against 2nd Round are not allowed to vacate the seat)
  • All India seat(AIQ) which is not reported will be reverted back to the state for State counseling

Mop Up Round (Final Round)

Stray vacancies

  • Final Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities (There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
  • List of ten times (of the registered candidates) of a number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
