Maratha Mandal’s Dental College & Research Centre, Belgaum started in 1931, a dedicated group of individuals belonging to the Maratha community, embarked on a dream. KEA – Karnataka Examination Authority conducts counseling for Government Medical College (50% seats and another 50% will be conducted by MCC), 100% seat allotment in Private Universities and private Medical College ( includes Non-Minority, linguistic minority, and religious minority institutions), by KEA.

“NOTE: People who got allotted in the 1st & 2nd Round are not allowed to participate in the mop-up round." This is the actual rule of KEA, but as per the court case and in favor of students, KEA allowed them to upgrade for the mop-up this 2024-2025 A.Y.

• In 2022, the institutional mop-up round of counseling was conducted to fill any vacant seats remaining after the mop-up round of KEA counseling. This round is carried out by colleges to fill leftover seats. A list of registered candidates for stray vacancies is sent to private colleges, and these vacancies must be filled strictly in order of merit. However, starting in 2023, all remaining seats must be filled solely through online processes.

The Maratha Mandal’s Institute Of Dental Sciences, Belgaum has been recognized as a Research Centre to carry out research work leading to the Ph.D. degree of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore in the Department of ‘Oral Pathology & Microbiology’
