Maratha Mandal’s Dental College & Research Centre, Belgaum started in 1931, a dedicated group of individuals belonging to the Maratha community, embarked on a dream. Their vision – to create a strong education base in the neglected areas of North Karnataka. KEA – Karnataka Examination Authority conducts counseling for Government Medical College (50% seats and another 50% will be conducted by MCC), 100% seat allotment in Private Universities and private Medical College ( includes Non-Minority, linguistic minority, and religious minority institutions), by KEA.

Mop Up Round:

• Option entry (whereas in 2022 it was offline counseling and in 2023 it was online counseling with a caution deposit of 3 lakhs for medical students and 2 lakhs for dental students to participate in the MOP-UP Round)

Stray vacancy round:

• Fresh registration was allowed for the candidates who hadn't registered in the subsequent rounds.

• In 2022, the institutional mop-up round of counseling will fill the vacant seats or remain unfilled seats after a mop-up round of KEA counseling. This round is conducted by colleges to fill the left-over seats. A list of the registered candidates' names for stray vacancies will be sent to private colleges to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.

The Maratha Mandal’s Institute Of Dental Sciences, Belgaum has been recognized as a Research Centre to carry out research work leading to the Ph.D. degree of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore in the Department of ‘Oral Pathology & Microbiology’
