The Medical College, Baroda is a Government Medical College of great repute which was established in the Year 1949. The foundation stone of the college was laid in the year 1946 by the former ruler of Baroda Sir. Pratap Sigh Gaekwad and the college started functioning from June 1949 with a batch of 40 students. The College is affiliated MS University of Baroda and recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC), India. It has an annual intake of 250 seats in MBBS, 176 seats in 22 disciplines of Postgraduate studies and 2 seats in 1 discipline of Super-Specialization studies.
The Medical college and Hospital is spread over 36 acres with state of the art infrastructure located in Central Baroda. There are very good spacious Classrooms, Lecture halls, Examination halls & Demonstration rooms. The Institute is fully equipped with clinical Laboratories, Museums and Auditorium. Library and information center is located in a huge area with good collection of Medical Books, Indian & Foreign Journals with separate reading space for students & Teaching Staff and a Digital Library. There are facilities for Indoor and Outdoor Games and Sports. There are separate hostel facilities for boys and girls.
The Attached Hospital
The Medical college is primarily affiliated with 1500 bedded tertiary care centre Sir Sayajirao General Hospital which traces its origin to the Countess of Dufferin Hospital started in 1865. It has a huge footfall of patients where it accounts to an average of 9 lakh+ Out-Patients per annum and 67,000+ In-Patient admissions and a bed occupancy of 90% all time. It also offers select high-end surgeries such as Oncosurgeries, Endo-Urologic Surgeries, Laparoscopic surgery. SSG hospital offers 24X7 Emergency and Trauma Care services and it receives around 290 emergencies a day. There are excellent modern clinical and diagnostic facilities in the Hospital where the laboratories run around 2000 tests in a day and the Department of Radio-Diagnosis has a daily load of 600 radiological tests per day. The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat renders Yeomen service practically free of cost to the under priviliged sections of the society and the common man. The Rogi Kalyan Samiti of the Hospital generates free funds from various sources to help to fund the cost of treatment for people below poverty line and tribal patients.

The MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (PG) examination conducting body
There will be four rounds of AIQ counseling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, AIQ Mop-up Rounds and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round (SLA(C) No. 10487 of 2021 before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India). All candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE) will be eligible for participation in the counselling process. In order to participate in the admission process, it is necessary to fill Admission Committee for Professional Postgraduate Medical Courses (ACPPGMEC) MBBS PG Admission Counseling medical application form in the online mode. Candidates who have qualified NEET- PG is eligible for the GUJARAT PG medical admission to the state quota as well as All India Quota seats. ACPPGMEC offers PG medical admission for the 50% seats available in the GUJARAT State Government and 100% Unaided Private Medical Colleges.

All the candidates who are included in the Merit-list of ACPPGMEC as well as who applied and became eligible for MD/MS/Diploma courses after revised/reduced NEET PG -2020 cut-off can participate in 3rd Online Round, except the candidates, who have secured and joined admission in 50% AIQ/ Deemed/ Central Universities/AFMC (MD/ MS/ Diploma and DNB seats or seats of other state) counseling. |
To participate in the mop-up round, the candidates have to log-in in the website http://medadmgujarat.org/pg/home.aspx using their User-ID and Password to give ONLINE CONSENT |
If admission of candidate is upgraded to new seat, candidate has to take print of allotment order of 3rd Online Round and report to nearby help center to get new admission order. In case, candidate doesn’t report to help center within stipulated time, new allotted admission will get cancelled. Hence in this scenario, candidate does not have admission on any seat. |
