Dental College & Hospital, was established in 1959 , affiliated to KALOJI NARAYANA RAO UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES (KNRUHS) is approved by the Dental Council of India, Govt. of India,State govt of Telangana. On the year 1979 the Dental Wing was separated from the Osmania Medical College and a full fledged Government Dental College and Hospital was established. GDC&H is the only one Govt. dental college in the entire state of Telangana .Boys and Girls are provided separate hostel.

The MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (MDS) examination conducting body

There will be four rounds of AIQ counseling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, AIQ Mop-up Rounds and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round (SLA(C) No. 10487 of 2021 before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India). All candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET MDS conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE) will be eligible for participation in the counselling process. Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC

There are multiple rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 & Stray Vacancy Round. ALL four rounds of AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB, are conducted by MCC through ONLINE ONLY i.e., Round 1, Round 2 , Round 3, and Stray Vacancy round. In the YEAR 2022–23 (Round 3) was called the Mop-Up round, where there was no sliding (upgradation) from the 2nd round to the mop-up round, but in 2023–2024, there was an upgradation from ROUND 2 to Round 3. In 2023-2024 Stray Vacancy Round was ONLINE, but in 2022-23 Stray Vacancy Round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit. As per the directions issued by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in SLA(C) No. 10487 of 2021, the AIQ scheme has been modified and 04 rounds of AIQ counselling will be conducted by MCC of DGHS, MoHFW. Hence, 3rd round (earlier mop-up round) and fourth round i.e. stray vacancy round will be conducted in AIQ from 2021-22 onwards.

2) KNRUHS ( Government and Private Medical College) 50% ( Domicile Based Seat)

The candidates who have qualified in NEET-MDS- examination with the following cutoff scores and above as per Notice dated 27.05.2022 issued by National Board of Examinations ,New Delhi are eligible to apply. There will be four rounds of KNRUHS counseling i.e. Round 1, Round 2,Mop-up Rounds and extended Mop-up Rounds (If seat is left after mop up round).The KNRUHS conducts separate NEETMDS counseling for state Government Medical and State management quota seats. The counselling will be organized through online mode in which candidates have to exercise their web options.

ELIGIBILITY:

Candidate should have qualified in NEET - MDS by securing marks of cut-off score .
Candidate should have passed BDS Degree examination from an Institution recognized by the Dental Council of India.
Candidates should have registered with Dental Council of India / State Dental Council.
BDS Graduates should have completed internship on or before 31-07-2023 from recognized Dental Colleges (by DCI).
In case of in-service candidates, Government service rendered shall be calculated as on 31-07-2023.
Candidates who satisfy the Local / Non Local status as per G.O.P No.646 Education (W) Department Dt:10.07.1979 only are eligible to apply for determining the State Merit position for Competent Authority Quota seats in respective categories using NEET MDS– score. Candidates are informed to read the Prospectus carefully regarding eligibility criteria before applying online.

Candidates who are domicile of Telangana / Andhra Pradesh and obtained BDS degree from other states in India are eligible for unreserved quota.

  1. Must have studied BDS in any one of the Dental Colleges in India.
  2. BDS Degree should be recognized by the Dental Council of India.
  3. Should have completed internship on or before 31-07-2023
  4. Incase of service candidates, service rendered shall be calculated as on 31-07-2023
  5. Must have registered with Dental Council of India.
  6. Candidates who are already studying MDS course shall not be permitted for registration.
  7. Candidates must pay fee for verification of certificates with regard to equivalence / equivalency as specified in the regulations along with the registration and processing fee. The verification fee and registration fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted to a future date. Therefore candidates are advised to check eligibility conditions thoroughly before applying for determining merit position in respective categories for State quota seats using NEET MDS-2022 Rank.

Schedule for registration of online application and uploading of certificates

Candidates can register online and upload scanned certificates on Website https://tsmds.tsche.in (Activated at the time of counseling)
Candidate should have passed BDS Degree examination from an Institution recognized by the Dental Council of India.
Registration and Processing Fee for MDS Degree courses :- The Registration and Processing fee of Rs.5500/- (Bank transaction charges extra) for OC & BC candidates and Rs.5000/- (Bank transaction charges extra) for SC/ST candidates shall be paid online through Debit card / Credit card or Net Banking.**
Equivalency fee: Candidates must pay fee for verification of certificates with regard to equivalence / equivalency as specified in the regulations along with the registration fee, in case of obtaining BDS Degree from other state or Other country of Rs. 5,000 & Rs. 7,000 respectively.
The registration and processing fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted to a future date.

RESERVATION IN FAVOUR OF THE LOCAL CANDIDATES

Admission to 85% of the seats shall be reserved in favour of the local candidates in relation to the local area as provided in A.P. Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order, 1974 for Non- State-Wide courses as given in Annexure-III of GO (P) No. 646, Edu. (W1) Department, dt.10-7-1979.Candidates who have studied bds in the states of telangana and andhra pradesh obtained degree are eligible.Must have registered with State Dental Council and subject to the fulfillment of the conditions stipulated in Regulations and its documentary proof should be uploaded along with online application.

LOCAL AREA:

The part of the State comprising the Districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam shall be regarded as the local area for the purposes of admission to the Andhra University, **(Nagarjuna University) and to any other education institution (other than a State-wide University or State- wide Educational Institution) which is subject to the control of the State Government and is situated in that part.
The part of the State comprising the Districts of Adilabad, Hyderabad, Ranga reddy, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahaboob nagar, Medak, Nalgonda, Nizamabad and Warangal shall be regarded as local area for the purposes of admission to the Osmania University,** (the Kakatiya University) and to any other educational institution (other than a State- wide University or State- wide Educational Institution) which is subject to the control of the State Government and is situated in that part.
The part of the State comprising the Districts of Ananthapur, Kadapa, Kurnool, Chittoor and Nellore shall be regarded as local area for the purposes of admission to Sri Venkateswara University and to any other educational institution (other than a State-wide University or State-wide Educational Institution) which is subject to the control of the State Government and is situated in that part

LOCAL CANDIDATES: Eligible for 85% of reserved seats for local candidates

A Candidate for admission shall be regarded as local candidate in relation to a local area
If he/she studied in an Educational Institution or Educational Institutions in such local area for a period of not less than 4 consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared in relevant qualifying examination.
Where during the whole or any part of the 4 consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination, he/she has not studied in Educational Institutions, if he/she had resided

A candidate who is not regarded as a local candidate under sub- regulation (3.3.1) above in relation to any local area shall

  1. If he/she has studied in educational institutions in the State for a period of not less than 7 consecutive academic years ending with academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination be regarded as local candidate in relation to:
    • Such local area where he/she has studied for the maximum period out of the said period of 7 years.
    • Where the period of his/her study in two or more local areas are equal, such local area where he/she has last studied in such equal periods
  2. If during the whole or any part of the seven consecutive academic years ending with academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared for relevant qualifying examination, he/she has not studied in the educational institution in any local area, but he/she has resided in the State during the whole of the said period of 7 years be regarded as a local candidate in relation to
  • Such local area where he/she has resided for the maximum period out of the said period of 7 years.
  • Where the period of his/her residence in two or more local areas are equal, such local area where he/she has resided last in such equal periods.

CANDIDATES ELIGIBLE FOR 15% UNRESERVED QUOTA

The following categories are eligible to apply for admission to the remaining 15% of un-reserved seats.

A Candidate for admission shall be regarded as local candidate in relation to a local area
Candidates who have resided in the State for a total period of ten years excluding period of study outside the State, or either of those parents have resided in the State for a total period of ten years excluding period of employment outside the State
Candidates who are children of parents who are in the employment of this State or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and other similar Quasi-Public Institutions in the State
Candidates, who are spouses of those in employment of this State or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and Educational Institutions recognized by the Government or a University or other Competent authority and similar other Quasi Government Institutions within the State
Candidates who are employed in the State Government Undertakings, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and other similar quasi-Public institutions within the State
Candidates who are spouses of the local candidates
N.B.: Relevant certificates must be uploaded along with the application in respect of their claim. In respect of proof of 10 years residence, the certificate should be obtained from the Revenue authorities not below the rank of Mandal Revenue Officer / Tahsildar.

RESERVATIONS:

15%, 6%, 29% seats of Post Graduate Dental Degree MDS Courses are reserved for SC, ST and BC (BC-A-7%, BC-B-10%, BC-C-1%, BC- D-7% and BC-E- 4%) candidates respectively, which are called vertical reservations.
Candidates claiming reservations under SC/ST/BC categories shall upload latest social status certificate issued by Competent Authority of Government of Telangana as specified in the application form. Candidates claiming reservations under SC/ST/BC categories and obtained Social Status Certificates from the State of Andhra Pradesh will be eligible only for the castes included under the approved list of SC/ST/BC categories notified by the Government of Telangana.
33 1/3% of seats shall be reserved for women and 5%seats shall be reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates respectively, which are horizontal reservations for Post Graduate Degree Courses.

SERVICE CANDIDATES INCENTIVE OF ADDITIONOF WEIGHTAGE MARKS :

The regular service candidates who have put in 2 years or more of continuous service in tribal area / 3 years or more of continuous service in rural area of service are eligible for addition of weightage of marks. The candidates should have qualified in the NEET-MDS-2022 Exam as per the cut-off marks prescribed for different categories to be eligible for addition of weightage of marks. Temporary / contract / out sourcing candidates are not eligible for addition of weightage of marks.

The addition of weightage of marks is as follows:

  1. For Tribal service candidates: Eligibility:2-years of continuous regular service. Addition of weightage of marks as 10% per year on the marks secured by candidate in NEET MDS Exam up to maximum of 30%..
  2. For Rural service candidates: Eligibility: 3-years of continuous regular service Addition of weightage of marks as 8% per year on the marks secured by candidate in NEET MDS Exam up to maximum of 24%.

CERTIFICATES REQUIREDBEFORE FILLING THE APPLICATION FORM ON- LINE

There are 4 steps to register for PG admission program i.e

MERIT LISTS

The final merit position of the candidates who have applied online in response to the notification issued by KNR University of Health Sciences for Competent Authority Quota seats shall be determined by NEET- MDS- 2022 rank and as per their eligibility criteria, applicable regulations, guidelines and reservation policies viz::

As per MDS Regulations of Dental Council of India, the candidates who secure minimum of 50 Percentile marks for General category,40 Percentile marks for SC / ST/ BC candidates and 45 Percentile of marks for Persons with Disability category candidates in NEET MDS-2022 as per the cutoff scores, are only eligible for admission or as per any revised cut-off scores as decided by Government of India.
The University will release final merit list of eligible candidates for exercising web options after verification of uploaded certificates by the University and the concerned departmental officers.
NOTE: Candidates who have applied online in response to this office notification for determining merit position for Competent Authority Quota seats shall upload the certificates online along with the application. Candidates have to submit one set of print out of application form, original certificates and self attested copies of certificates at allotted college at the time of admission for verification. In case of any discrepancy, allotment of admission is cancelled.

COUNSELING:

  • The notification for schedule for exercising web options will be issued separately on KNRUHS website. Verification of uploaded certificates will be done only once for web based counseling irrespective of number of rounds of exercising web based options and number of counselings. Hence, candidates who have applied on-line are advised to upload all original certificates at the time of online registrations without fail for scrutiny by concerned departmental official.
  • No individual communications will be sent.
  • Candidates are informed to check the website regularly for notifications.
  • The Admission Committee shall have power to review the selection in case of any errors, misrepresentation or glaring injustice and cancel the selection/admission. In all matters relating to selection and admissions, the decision of the Admission Committee shall be final and binding on the Candidates and selections cannot be questioned after admissions are closed.

Candidates have to submit one set of print out of application form, original certificates and self attested copies of certificates at allotted college at the time of admission for verification. ADMISSION RULES:

The letter of selection of admission for selected candidates has to be downloaded from the website after payment of University fee through payment gateway.

All the candidates including In-service candidates joining the MDS courses shall execute bond on a stamped paper of Rs. 100 /- as prescribed in Annexure-II to the effect that he/she will complete the prescribed period of training or in default to pay Rs.5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs only) to the University and shall refund the amount received as stipend up to that date to the Government.
Bond for service after completion of degree : Candidate shall submit a bond for serving the State of Telangana as per existing Government Regulations at the time of admission.
The candidates who discontinue the course after issue of notification for final round of counseling or later will have to pay discontinuation fee of Rs.5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs only) They will be debarred from participating in counseling's for admission into MDS for a period of three (3) years under KNRUHS.
The original certificates submitted at the time of admission to the Principal of the allotted college shall not be returned to the candidates until they complete their course.
