The Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal is a Government Medical College established in the year 1959. It was originally located in a building donated by the pingable family at Waddepally and it moved into the make-shift buildings constructed at the permanent site in November 1961. The College is affiliated Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal located in Telangana and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), India. The KMC has an annual intake of 250 MBBS seats and 167 seats in 21 disciplines of Post-Graduate studies. The college is one of the oldest and premium Medical colleges in Telangana imparting a good standard Medical education. It is easily accessible by Road and Rail route and the nearest Airport is in Hyderabad.
The KMC is located in a sprawling area of 152.17 acres (0.6158 km2) of land and the permanent campus was inaugurated in1966. The college is equipped with state-of-the-art huge classrooms, Lecture halls, Examination halls, Demonstration rooms. An open stage Auditorium accommodating 500+. There are well-equipped Laboratories and Skill labs with Departmental museums. The Central library is in a separate building of 1200 sq.mt. in three big halls and small halls including one AC Reading Room. In K.M.C Library, separate halls are provided for staff, Post Graduates and Under Graduates. In each section the latest Textbooks, Reference Books, Recent Advances, Monograms and Annual Reviews are available, Nearly 1104 reference books with the latest editions in different Medical subjects are available in staff and P.G. reference Library. About 414 latest textbooks in different Medical subjects with multiple copies are available in U.G. Reference Library. In addition to the above 70 Indian Journal's and 26 International Journals worth of 22 lakhs are subscribing in every year for reference to Staff, Postgraduate and undergraduate register. In addition, there are departmental Libraries as well. There are separate hostels for boys, girls and staff quarters within the campus. Indoor and Outdoor games. sports and recreational facilities are in place. Every year KMC organizes college sports festival in the name of UTKARSHA in a grand way. Final years batch lead this tournament. The sports facilities include: Indoor Badminton Hall with two courts, Cricket grounds with turf wicket with four permanent nets, Basketball court with flood lights, Football ground with full of grass, Volleyball courts (2), Tennis Courts (2). On either side of the college building, there are two buildings having a cloakroom, canteen, Andhra Bank, Post office & Engineering Depts.

The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. Eligibility Condition:
There are multiple rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 & Stray Vacancy Round. ALL four rounds of AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB, are conducted by MCC through ONLINE ONLY i.e., Round 1, Round 2 , Round 3, and Stray Vacancy round. In the YEAR 2022–23 (Round 3) was called the Mop-Up round, where there was no sliding (upgradation) from the 2nd round to the mop-up round, but in 2023–2024, there was an upgradation from ROUND 2 to Round 3. In 2023-2024Stray Vacancy Round was ONLINE, but in 2022-23 Stray Vacancy Round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit. As per the directions issued by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in SLA(C) No. 10487 of 2021, the AIQ scheme has been modified and 04 rounds of AIQ counselling will be conducted by MCC of DGHS, MoHFW. Hence, 3rd round (earlier mop-up round) and fourth round i.e. stray vacancy round will be conducted in AIQ from 2021-22 onwards.

Post Graduate Medical Degree / Diploma courses for the academic year 2023-2024 Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences will be Conducting Competent Authority Quota Counselling for all Government college ( affiliated to KNR University of Health Sciences and NIZAM's Institute of Medical Sciences, (NIMS) Hyderabad) and 50% Private Colleges in State of Telangana. Provisional Final merit list will be displayed on KNRUHS website after scrutiny of uploaded certificates and application. Verification of uploaded certificates will be done only once for web based counseling irrespective of number of phases of exercising web based options and counselings. Hence, candidates who have applied on-line are advised to upload all original certificates at the time of online registrations without fail for scrutiny by concerned departmental officials. No individual communications will be sent. The notification for schedule for exercising web options will be issued separately on KNRUHS website. Candidates are informed to check the website regularly for notifications.
The Admission Committee shall have power to review the selection in case of any errors, misrepresentation or glaring injustice and cancel the selection/admission. In all matters relating to selection and admissions, the decision of the Admission Committee shall be final and binding on the candidates and selections cannot be questioned after admissions are closed.
The letter of allotment for admission of selected candidate has to be downloaded from website after payment of University fee by payment gateway.
All the candidates including In-service candidates joining the Post Graduate degree, diploma courses shall execute bond on a stamp paper of Rs. 100/- as prescribed in Annexure-II to the effect that he / she will complete the prescribed period of training or in default to pay Rs.50,00,000 /- ( Rupees Fifty Lakhs only) to the KNRUHS and shall refund the amount received as stipend / salary up to that date to the Government. |
Bond for service after completion of degree: All Postgraduates (excluding in-service candidates) shall serve the Government of Telangana, if necessary, in Government institutions for a period of one year as per the orders of the State Government. A bond of Rs.10,00,000 (Rupees ten lakhs only) on admission into Postgraduate Diploma course and Rs.20,00,000 (Rupees twenty lakhs only) on admission into Postgraduate Degree course shall be executed by candidates at the time of admission |
The admitted candidates who discontinue the course after the second phase of counseling or later will have to pay penalty of Rs.50,00,000/- (Rupees Fifty Lakhs only) to prevent seat blocking. They will be debarred from participating in counselings for admission into Post Graduate degree, diploma courses for a period of three (3) years under KNR UHS. |
The original certificates submitted by the candidates at the time of admission to the Principal of the allotted college shall not be returned to the candidates until they complete their course of study, subject to sub-regulation |
