The Vinayaka Missions Kirupananda Variyar Medical College established in the Year 1996. The campus houses a medical college with 150 MBBS annual admissions and 79 seats in 18 disciplines of Post Graduate studies. The college is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC)  and is affiliated with the affiliated to Vinayaka Missions University (Deemed), Salem. The entire campus of Vinayaka Missions Medical College spread over an area of over 70 acres .The infrastructure of the University includes Lecture Halls, Labs, Library, Office Space for Faculties, Seminar Halls, Conference Halls, Auditorium and infrastructure for Sports & Extra Curricular activities etc. All the classrooms are spacious, well illuminated and equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia teaching aids. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The university has well developed a  air-conditioned library with internet facility for the students. 

VMMC Karaikal provides well-secured Residential facilities to the outstation boys and girl students coming from different regions of India / abroad. VMMC Girls’ Hostel shifted to its own building with an area of 0.546 acre, at Karaikal within a distance of about 0.5 kilometers from the Academic campus.he College provides all kinds of sports activities and encourages students to take part in games and to ensure their all-round development. All facilities and playgrounds are available for Gymnasiums, Basket Ball, VolleyBall, Foot Ball, Table Tennis, Cricket, Badminton etc.

Vinayaka Missions Medical college & Hospital, Karaikal has 590 bedded hospital. The hospital is fully equipped with state-of-art diagnostic and therapeutic departments to facilitate treatment of an extensive range of diseases. A full fledged scientifically designed out patient complex for all departments with adequate waiting space for patients and attendants. An Emergency wing designed and equipped to deal with all cases of casualties, trauma, accident, and medical emergencies. A full fledged diagnostic setup with round the clock central laboratory capable of performing all tests. Ultramodern imaging facilities under department of Radio diagnosis and Imaging with X-ray, Ultrasound , Doppler, CT Scan. The blood bank of the institute is also well equipped with blood testing facilities, latest gadgetry and a cold room for good storage capacity.

Clinical board’s general specialities viz. Medicine, Surgery, OBG, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Pulmonology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Anaesthesiology and Radiology and three paraclinical departments viz. Pathology, Microbiology and Biochemistry are working in the Hospital. Hospital consists of 13 clinical departments with all facilities. Super specialty clinics such as cardiology, neurology and neuro-surgery, oncology, Plastic surgery, Paediatric surgery, urology, are available

    Vinayaka Missions Kirupananda Variyar Medical College, NEETPG  Counseling is conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)

    MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:-

    The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (PG) examination conducting body 

    Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India & rs.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats .The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the  documents as and when the same are called for by the MCC.

    Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC

                   There are four rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Mop- Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round. Out of the four rounds for Deemed Universities, 03 rounds are conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit

    1. “Satisfied with the allotted seat and candidate is willing to report to the allotted college, not interested in further allotment of seats in any subsequent round for any discipline”.
    2. The candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat but wishes to participate in the next round. Such candidates should pay the prescribed fees
    3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counselling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
    4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

    2nd Round :- (AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB)

    Fresh Registration for Mop-up Round (not required for earlier resigned candidates)

    • Notification for counseling process
    • NRI application with appropriate documents to be mailed for opening NRI portal ([email protected])
    • Registration fee varies as per the Filling of application form for-AIQ, Deemed, CU, DU, Central Institutes, AFMS

    • If Allotted (No Free Exit)(Exit With Forfeiture of Fees )(No Upgradation For Next Round)
    • Reporting at the Medical Institutions/university against 2nd Round (candidates once joined the allotted seat against 2nd Round are not allowed to vacate the seat)

    Mop Up Round (Final Round) :- (AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB)
    Fresh Registration for Mop-up Round (not required for earlier resigned candidates)

    • There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round.
    • There will be no choice filling in Stray Vacancy Round. The choices filled during Mop-Up round will be considered for allotment in Stray Vacancy Round.
    • Allotment of seats ‘Online’ by running software
    • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round

    Stray vacancies:- (DEEMED)

    • Final Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities (There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
    • List of ten times (of the registered candidates) of number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
    • For Deemed Universities the Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted by the respective Deemed University
    • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round
