The Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Govt. Medical Sc. & Research Instt, Srinagar, Pauri Garhwal, is a Government College established in the Year 2008. The College is affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, located in Uttarakhand and recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC) with an annual intake of 125 MBBS seats and 4 seats in 1 discipline of Postgraduate studies.
The college is located midst the beautiful Himalayan mountainous ranges. The campus is surrounded by lush green vegetation and has state of the art modern infrastructure. The college is well connected via road to the capital of Uttarakhand, Dehradun. College is at a distance of about 126 km from the nearby airport (Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun). There are 5 lecture theatres, each having a capacity of 140 students and equipped with modern audio visual aids and AC. It also has a fully computerized library with wi-fi connectivity. Hostels are good with necessary facilities including mess. All departments have adequate space and modern laboratories. A modern auditorium was also inaugurated in 2020. The entire campus is under CCTV surveillance. Every department has latest equipment in laboratories, research labs, and departmental libraries along with latest audio visual teaching aids. The five lecture theaters have sitting capacity of more than 140 students each and are equipped with latest teaching aids. The computerized central library which is spread over three floors stocks more than 8400 latest books on all walks of medicines. It also has internet facility along with multimedia teaching aid. This college is equipped with advanced medical equipment and cutting-edge medical technology which has proved to be a boon for the local population.
The Teaching Hospital
The Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Base Teaching Hospital associated with medical college has been catering to the wide section of population of and around Srinagar. Currently HNB Base Teaching Hospital is 700 bedded and the number of beds are planned to be increased in future. The hospital is providing best of medical facilities to local and remote population including OPD; Indoor Patients; Operation theatres; Emergency Services; CT Scans; Ultrasound and pathology testing facility.

The MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (MDS) examination conducting body
There will be four rounds of AIQ counseling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, AIQ Mop-up Rounds and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round (SLA(C) No. 10487 of 2021 before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India). All candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET MDS conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE) will be eligible for participation in the counselling process.
