The Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal, also known as MCODS, was established in 1965 and received accreditation by the Dental Council of India in 1970. It was India's first private dental college and 14th dental college. Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal (MCODS), Manipal, formerly known as the College of Dental Surgery, was established in 1965, as the first self-financing institution under private sector in India. Ranked No 2 college in the dental category of NIRF- 2022 and Ranked No 1 college in the dental category of NIRF- 2021.It is a constituent college of Manipal Academy Of Higher Education (MAHE).

MCODS faculty have received many national and international awards and prestigious research grants. Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal MCODS infrastructure supports more than 340 dental chairs and state-of-the-art laboratories .  MCODS, Manipal, has several peripheral clinics that include centers at Dr. T.M.A. Pai Hospital, Udupi; dental clinics at Hebri and Saligrama, Sharada Residential School, Udupi; Besides these, the mobile dental unit caters to the dental treatment needs of patients in and around Udupi. With 500+patient /Day ,800+ crowns/ month ,60 Bed 200+ GA cases fully AC 10000 Publication one of the best Dental Treatment Hospitals in India.

Every laboratory and every speciality owns advanced equipments. It ranges from CBCT machine, Carl Zeiss surgical microscope, Carl Zeiss Endodontic microscope, Lasers, FACCAD orthodontic planning software, Conscious sedation, Peizo electric surgical unit, CAD-CAM, BPS unit, 3D Printer, Digital smile designing software, Hard tissue microtome, frozen sectioning unit, linear accelerator, T-scan and so on.....

In addition to the Bachelor’s and Post Graduate courses in dental surgery, Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS), Manipal also conducts advanced certificate courses in Oral Implantology, Aesthetic Dentistry and LASER dentistry, Integrated dental photography. A postgraduate course in Dental Materials, the first of its kind in the country, is also a part of the institution’s academic progress. Diploma courses in Dental Hygiene, Dental Mechanics, and Dental operatory room assistant are offered as well.

    MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:-

    The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (MDS) examination conducting body 

    Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India &Ors.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats .The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the  documents as and when the same are called for by the MCC.

    Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC

                   There are four rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Mop- Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round. Out of the four rounds for Deemed Universities, 03 rounds are conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit

    3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counselling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
    4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

    2nd Round :- (AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB)

    Fresh Registration for Mop-up Round (not required for earlier resigned candidates)

    • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round

    Stray vacancies:- (DEEMED)

    • Final Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities (There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
    • List of ten times (of the registered candidates) of number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
    • For Deemed Universities the Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted by the respective Deemed University
    • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round

    KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) COUNSELING 

    As per consensual agreement between the Karnataka government and Manipal Academy Of Higher Education (MAHE) . Manipal Academy Of Higher Education (MAHE) Karnataka shares 2% of there seat in UG and PG  For the local students of Karnataka. The Tuition fees will be same as MCC counseling. 

    KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) COUNSELING PROCESS

    The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bengaluru is the designated agency of Government of Karnataka conducting Online / Offline Counseling for allotment of seats for admission to Post Graduate Degree / Diploma Courses in Medical / Dental subjects in Government Medical and Dental colleges, Government Quota seats in Private ,Deemed and Minority Medical and Dental Colleges and Private seats in Private Medical and Dental colleges (KPCF, KRLMPCA, AMPCK & Private Universities) located in the State of Karnataka for the academic year.

    The allotment of seats will be conducted in multiple number of iterations.

    Integrated Dental Photography Certificate Course

    Duration: 4 days with 2 modules of 2 days each.

    Admissions: There is no Entrance Test for this course.

    Selection: Manipal Academy of Higher Education will declare the list of selected candidates, on the website after the last date for application

    DIPLOMA PROGRAM:-

    Duration: 2 years (Full time)

    Eligibility:-

    • A candidate should be at least 17 years at the time of admission & medically fit to pursue the course
    • A candidate must have passed 10+2  or two years intermediate or equivalent course thereof with Science subjects i.e Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from a recognized Indian University or Pre-University / Intermediate Board

    PG CERTIFICATE:

    • Aesthetic Dentistry:-2 Module (1 year)
    • Laser Dentistry:- 2 modules (6 months)
    • Oral Implantology:- 1 year (4 modules and each module for 6 days)

    PG Certificate in Aesthetic Dentistry

    The PG Certificate Course in Aesthetic Dentistry is a one year course offered by the Manipal College of Dental Sciences at the Manipal campus. It is a combination of four contact sessions, each of 6 days duration. The session will be held once in three months

    PG Certificate in Laser Dentistry

    Course Duration: 6 months

    Contact Sessions: 2 sessions of four days each spread 6 months apart

    Mode of teaching: Hybrid mode

    Venue: Department of Advanced Courses, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal

    PG Certificate in Oral Implantology

    Duration: 

    1 year (4 modules and each module for 6 days).

    Admissions:

    Admissions are based on the completion of internship from a DCI recognized institution and there is no Entrance Test for this course. Admissions are based on first come first serve basis.
