Vishnu Dental College, Vishnupur, Kovvada, Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh was established in the year 2002. It is affiliated to DR. N.T.R University of Health Sciences and recognized by Dental Council of India and Govt of India. VDC is ranked 23rd by NIRF among the Dental Colleges across India. “India Today” Magazine ranked Vishnu Dental College with No. 40 among the best Dental Colleges in India & the only Dental College listed from Andhra Pradesh (India Today Survey 2021). "THE WEEK” Magazine ranked Vishnu Dental College with No. 21 among govt. & private Dental Colleges and No. 16 in Private Dental Colleges in India & the only Dental College listed from Andhra Pradesh. Vishnu Dental College received the IAOMR Community Service Award (Group) for the year 2019, and received this award consecutively for the 4th year. As per The Outlook-ICare rankings - 2021, VDC was ranked 20th among the Top Private Dental colleges in India.
The institution was initiated by Padmabushan Dr.B.V.Raju in the year 2002 with the vision of transforming the society through excellence in education, community empowerment, affordable health care and sustained environmental protection. This self-financing, non-minority institute is situated in a rural area spread over 10 acres of land inside 66 acre campus located in Kovvada village near Bhimavaram. The college was started with an intake capacity of 100 students in BDS course. In the year 2008 Postgraduate Course in five specialties were introduced with total PG intake of 14. Again in 2009 postgraduate courses were started in three specialities and currently, the total PG intake is 53. It is attached with the Bhimavaram Hospitals which is attached with the medical college for clinical practice. Community Outreach is an integral part of Vishnu Dental College and Hospital through which Secondary and Primary Care initiatives are incubated and implemented. They currently operate 23 Rural Satellite Dental Clinics in India and organizes regular outreach programs tailor built for various social target groups with a grand Vision “Oral Healthcare for All”. The Incubation centre at VDC&H intends to build an ecosystem where students are nurtured in innovation and problem-solving skills.
The Dental college is located in a constructed area of 260302 sq.ft and with an open area of 162353 sqft. The college provides state of the art infrastructure which has set high standards in terms of Dental Education and creates an environment for excellent student oriented, patient friendly environment with dedicated faculty in place. Currently the college is equipped with 357 latest electronic Dental chairs and has set up a well maintained laboratory with all the latest equipment as well. There are technology driven air conditioned classrooms and seminar halls. There is an centrally air conditioned Auditorium with a seating capacity of 1000. State of art preclinical labs equipped with patient simulations and Wi Fi enabled campus. There is a Dental education museum within the campus. The campus houses well ventilated spacious hostels for girls and boys separately.

Admission to 85% of the seats shall be reserved in favour of the local candidates in relation to the local area as provided in A.P. Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order, 1974 for Non- State-Wide courses as given in Annexure-III of GO (P) No. 646, Edu. (W1) Department, dt.10-7-1979.
STATE-WIDE COURSES: The courses at Govt. Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada are State-Widecourses and admission into these Courses shall be regulated as per the provisions in the A.P.
